Cluster development is a highly effective strategy for strengthening regional competitiveness. The city of Copenhagen and greater Copenhagen area has developed a number of successful clusters with an impressively low budget and a small team of staff. The region has made itself more attractive to investors by creating extended infrastructures of knowledge. Research institutions and universities support the infrastructure of the clusters and the region is home to many innovative environments with several science parks and technological institutions.
